Nature Coatings has developed a groundbreaking bio-based pigment called BioBlack that is transforming the coatings industry. BioBlack is a 100% bio-based, high-performing, and carbon-negative alternative to the traditional petroleum-derived carbon black pigment.

BioBlack is made from FSC-certified, recycled pre-consumer wood waste, using a closed-loop, circular manufacturing process with renewable energy. It is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and USDA BioPreferred, ensuring
sustainability and responsible sourcing.

BioBlack has the highest light fastness ratings and does not fade or change color, making it a long-lasting and reliable pigment, and can be used for multiple coatings applications including needs for mass tone and blue undertones.

Global groups in packaging, automotive, apparel and paints have chosen BioBlack, proving its adoptability. BioBlack comes in four different products: two 100% bio-based water-borne dispersions with varying particle sizes and tint strengths and two 100% bio-based dry pigments with varying particles sizes and tint strengths.

"At Nature Coatings, our vision is to create a future where the chemical industry operates in harmony with nature, and where we don’t have to sacrifice performance or costs to get there,” said Jane Palmer, founder and CEO of Nature Coatings.
