Patent No. Europe 1 070 748 BA
Powder coatings with improved mechanical properties have been patented by DuPont.
The coatings are obtained from compositions containing 60-70 weight percent epoxy, polyester, blocked urethane or acrylic resin, 30-40 weight percent co-reactant, ie. diisocyanates, acid anhydrides, TGIC and/or dicyandiamide (derivative), with zero to two weight percent degassing agent and 0.2 to five weight percent hyperbranched polyester as a flow and levelling agent, an adhesion promoter or crosslinking agent, optionally with UV-curable endcapping group. The preparation and use are claimed in the patent.
