As part of the company’s year-long celebration of its 150th anniversary in the coatings industry, Axalta Coating Systems announces the complete global rollout of its AquaEC 6100 portfolio of electrodeposition coatings for customers in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
The most recent AquaEC innovation, AquaEC 6100 was introduced in North America earlier this year. Formulated to offer excellent mechanical properties, superior corrosion resistance, improved throw power and enhanced edge protection, AquaEC 6100 offers customers improved productivity benefits and reduced application costs. The tin-free technology used in AquaEC 6100 also helps meet environmental goals.
“We set a goal with AquaEC technology to go beyond developing and delivering a great product by focusing as well on ways to increase the profitability of each customer,” says Michael Cash, President Industrial Coatings at Axalta. “We’ve made sure to stick to our values of partnership and complete dedication to the success of each of our customers. Axalta is excited to now offer our latest AquaEC 6100 technology on a global scale.”
The AquaEC E-Coat portfolio of products provides job coaters and other customers with a superior combination of product benefits and application technologies. Axalta’s network of experts are eager to understand and address the unique application requirements of customers in the complex marketplace that relies on electrodeposition technology to prevent corrosion and help materials last longer.
Adam Adkisson, MPI business owner and Axalta customer states, “We were impressed by Axalta’s commitment to industrial E-Coat. That is something that was important to us as a job shop coater: a company that was committed to the market and to industrial coaters. Our requirements change often, so we value that partnership and relationship. We have significantly improved our usage and profitability since moving to the AquaEC 6100 product line.”
AquaEC has continued to fulfill the needs of customers ranging from light vehicle and heavy duty truck manufacturers to a spectrum of industrial applications. In 2015, AquaEC expanded its product portfolio to meet the requirements of manufacturers of agricultural, construction and earthmoving equipment (ACE). The combination of AquaEC E-Coats, further supported by other Axalta liquid and powder coatings and coupled with the company’s global footprint, position Axalta to meet the demanding technology and performance requirements of heavy equipment manufacturers. In 2014 Axalta combined its well established E-Coat products under the AquaEC brand name. Since then, AquaEC has experienced continuously improved performance metrics and the portfolio’s ability to address the needs of increasingly diverse substrates, part designs, and pretreatment options.
“Axalta continues to expand its role in the industrial coatings E-Coat market to serve job applicators around the world who compete in the automotive, ACE, and general industrial segments,” noted Michael Bennett, Director of Axalta’s Industrial Liquid business in North America. “It is important to us that customers have the confidence that we are committed to being a long-term partner to their businesses, committed to their success.”
