CW: Please provide some background on your company. When was it founded? Where is it headquartered and how many employees do you have?
Miles: Oxerra was founded in 1979 and has grown into a global leader in the iron oxide industry. Oxerra is headquartered in Singapore and has manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Globally, there are over 2000 employees.
CW: What kinds of products do you produce for the paint and coatings industry?
Miles: Oxerra has the broadest portfolio of iron oxide products in the market. We have a full range of materials specifically formulated for the need of the coating industry. These include micronized and low viscosity grades for architectural coatings and heat resistant grades for powder and coil coating. In addition to iron oxides, Oxerra has a full line of transparent iron oxides, ferrites, and chrome oxides.
CW: What are the most important drivers of change for your business in 2024 (e.g. sustainability, environmental compliance, etc.)? How do you prepare for them?
Miles: Oxerra is dedicated to improving our sustainability and we have maintained an EcoVadis rating for over ten years. We are undergoing a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) on all of our production facilities so we can better understand the environmental impact through the whole supply and logistics channels.
CW: What types of services do you offer that set you apart from the competition?
Miles: Oxerra is continuing to invest in improving and diversifying our product portfolio. We are continuously expanding our expertise and capabilities so we are able to provide our customers with the highest service levels and develop solutions to their needs. Our customer service level, extensive distribution network, and diverse manufacturing options sets us apart from our competitors. Our ability to supply products from several different regions provides our customers with the most reliable supply lines in the industry.
CW: For 2024 and beyond, how does your company plan on continuing to meet the changing demands of its customers?
Miles: Over the last several years, supply chain has been one of the most difficult aspects to manage in our business and for our customers. During this period, we demonstrated our strength in delivering product despite the global challenges. With our acquisition last year, we have increased our manufacturing footprint and flexibility even further. This allows us to diversify production and shorten global lead times. Another example of our commitment to expanding supply options and production capabilities, we are in the process of finishing our Batan Indonesia plant and expect to have commercial production available in the second quarter. Oxerra is also continuously developing new products to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
