The Śnieżka Group joined the Polish Plastics Pact (PPP). Thanks to participation in this initiative, Śnieżka will be able to expand the scope of activities aimed at introducing a closed packaging cycle. Joining the pact is consistent with the goals of Śnieżka's Sustainable Development Strategy 2023+, announced at the beginning of this year.
The implemented Strategy includes three pillars: Environment, People and Business. Under the first pillar - Environment - Śnieżka will use packaging containing a certain percentage of recycled raw material. In the case of plastic packaging, Śnieżka declared that by the end of 2023, every second packaging will contain at least 10% of recycled raw material. This is the first step towards achieving a circular economy for plastic packaging.
Thanks to this, the group purchases responsibly and implements sustainable development in the supply chain.
“We joined the Polish Plastic Pact because we want to be well prepared for the upcoming legislative changes. We see value in knowledge exchange and partnership at the level of the entire value chain. We believe that by joining the Pact, we are becoming part of a professional cooperation platform for the circular economy, which will significantly support the implementation of our goals and assumptions in the area of packaging,” said Waldemar Jezioro, purchasing director – Śnieżka Capital Group.
Access to expert knowledge within the Pact and its global network, exchange of experiences and the possibility of implementing joint projects with other participants will allow the company to introduce real changes in the organization.
As part of the numerous initiatives and activities of the Polish Plastic Pact, Śnieżka's representatives plan to get involved in the work of these working groups, the aim of which is to increase the share of secondary raw materials in plastic packaging and reduce the consumption of primary plastics.
Closing the circulation of plastic packaging on the Polish market is an ambitious vision behind the Polish Plastic Pact. Therefore, it is with great satisfaction that we begin our partnership with Śnieżka. The pact is a cooperation platform for companies participating in the plastic packaging value chain. Legislation will soon force companies to make significant changes in this area. Thanks to its involvement in the work of the Pact, the Śnieżka Group can prepare for them with greater peace of mind,” noted Małgorzata Żochowska, specialist in building relationships and project development in the Polish Plastic Pact.
