In-Person Exhibition
Exhibitors will showcase their products and services in five exhibit zones: International Machinery, Instrument and Services; China Machinery, Instrument and Services; Powder Coatings Technology; UV/EB Technology and Products; and China International Raw Materials.
Technical Seminars and Workshops
Technical Seminars & Webinars will be held on Nov. 16th-17th concurrently with CHINACOAT2021. Exhibitors will share their insights on their latest technologies as well as practical solutions, allowing visitors to stay tuned with the market trends. Virtual visitors can join the Live Webinars or watch Webinar Playbacks on the Online Show.
This year there will be two Technical Workshops.
“Waterborne Industrial Coatings Paving the Way to Low Carbon Emissions,” by Dr. Cai Yu, BSc, PhD, technical service & development scientist, Dow Coating Materials, Dow Chemical Company, will be held Nov. 16 from 1:30-4:30 pm.
Description: 2021 is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. To meet the targets of “Carbon Peak/ Carbon Neutrality” by 2030 and 2060 respectively, both Provincial Governments and the industries will double their efforts on VOC and various emission controls. New policies and the post-pandemic markets will create huge demand for green, high-performance, low/zero VOC, lead-free coating products, and at the same time accelerate replacement of solvent-based coatings by waterborne coatings in various applications. Among them, industrial coatings segments are speeding up the substitution of low-VOC raw materials for the conventional ones.
This Technical Workshop will illustrate advantages and new opportunities for Waterborne coatings with cases, cite 1K and 2K industrial coatings formulations and their successful outputs, development and application of industrial coating additives, as well as provide smart and innovative solutions for broader applications.
The second workshop, “Water-based Pigment Technologies – Requirement, Performance and Challenges,” will be presented by Prof. KM Chen BSc, PhD., Shanghai University of Engineering Science, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; Joint PhD., University of Massachusetts, MA, USA; PhD., East China University of Science & Technology, School of Chemical Engineering, Shanghai, PRC on Nov. 17th from 1:30-4:30 pm.
Description: Pigments are extensively demanded by various applications, such as architectural coatings, adhesives, sealants, automotive finishes, wood coatings, printing inks, etc.
With rising demand for green products, water-based pigment technologies have become a hot spot in the industry. Recently, pigments have gradually developed from water-based and solvent-based general-purpose products to low-VOC and glycol-free solvents, consequently expanding their applications. Although there are still shortcomings in water-based pigment technologies, incremental innovation in the field will rise the pigment performance to higher levels. This Technical Workshop will discuss water-based pigment technologies trends, which will most likely become the next heat wave of industrial coatings and printing.
Online Show
This year, CHINACOAT will continue to offer an Online Show to help facilitate business between exhibitors and visitors. Virtual exhibitors who apply for the Premium Virtual Booth Package will also have a physical booth at the Shanghai exhibition venue to reach visitors onsite. The Online Show will be held alongside the three-day exhibition in Shanghai, and will stay online before and after the physical exhibition for a total of 30 days.
Basic features of the virtual edition include 3D Exhibition Halls with 3D booths, e-business cards, exhibit showcases, company profiles, live chat, info download, exhibitor live streaming sessions, webinars, and more.
It also offers a Business Matching function, where visitors can locate targeted exhibitors to establish initial contact.
Since its inception in 1996, CHINACOAT has been dedicated to providing an international trading platform for suppliers and manufacturers of the coatings industry to connect with global trade visitors, particularly from China and Asia.
The show is held annually and alternates its venue between the cities of Guangzhou and Shanghai, P. R. China.
Despite the travel restrictions implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Guangzhou edition attracted more than 22,200 trade visitors from 20 countries/regions, together with more than 710 exhibitors from 21 countries/regions. Although both visitor and exhibitor data were far lower than previous editions, Sinostar reported that under the effects of the global pandemic, the results were considered positive.
