Egypt’s largest paint and coatings manufacturer, Kapci Coatings enjoyed 10% growth in 2022, with sales growing to $245 million. Kapci is best known for its automotive refinish paints, which account for 63% of its sales; its architectural/decorative paints make up 18% of Kapci’s revenue, with wood finishes 17%. Among Kapci’s major brands are the Kapci Prima range of auto refinish products, which was introduced in 2021; Dima water-based paints; Kapci mid-tier products; and Latico.
Kapci Coatings has two manufacturing sites in Port Said, Egypt, and another manufacturing facility in India, which Kapci opened in 2018. They have eight distribution branches across Egypt. The company has 1,840 employees.
Naturally, as an automotive refinish expert, Kapci Coatings has been active in motorsports for several years. For 2023, Kapci is sponsoring Mohamed Hamdy, also known as “The Egyptian Pharaoh,” in this year’s Ferrari Challenge Europe 2023 races.
“Mohamed Hamdy is a relatively new name in the racing world,” said Amr Mohamed El-Sayed, Kapci’s commercial director. “However, his recent signing with Ferrari Challenge Europe has garnered significant attention in Egypt and the racing community. As the first Egyptian driver to race for Ferrari, Hamdy has become a source of national pride and inspiration for aspiring racers in his home country.”
