HMG Paints went back to Manchester with the coveted Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award from the 2015 annual British Coatings Federation Awards evening.
Coatings Care is a voluntary program and the objective is to improve the performance of the Coatings industry in the fields of the environment, safety, health, distribution and product stewardship. The Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award has been presented since 1999 to the company that has demonstrated best in class performance across a range of performance indicators. These include accidents and incidents, energy consumption, waste and recycling, VOC emissions, personnel management and communications.
“Recognition from industry peers is the ultimate accolade for any business and we are utterly delighted to have won the 2015 Coatings Care award. It is a testament to the hard work of everyone at HMG who strive every day to do a great job for the company” said John Falder, who attended his last awards evening as the BCF’s president and passes on the title at the annual conference in June 2016.
Over the years HMG has seen a number of different training programs for staff on site, lowered solvent emissions and decreased waste.
The awards evening was held at the Wychwood Park in Weston, Cheshire on Wednesday, Nov. 25. This year saw a record number of award entries since the awards evenings’ inception. The evening was full of cheers and applause for all the companies achievements, topped off with quality entertainment from rapper and comedian, Chris Turner. The awards were presented by HMG’s Managing Director and BCF President John Falder and Chief Executive Tom Bowtell, along with the Award judges and the night’s performer Chris Turner.
Awards presented throughout the evening included; excellence in training, sustainable innovation and customer service awards. HMG was picked as a finalist for the Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award, which we last won in 2000. This year HMG were singled out as the winner above four other contenders, Crown Paints, Darwen, BASF, Deeside, Teal & Mackrill, Hull, and AkzoNobel Decorative Paints, Stowmarket.
