Description:
BASF has an opening for Midwest (IL, IN, MI, OH).
Account Manager Role:
- Manages total Transport and Industrial Coatings business and relationship with our customer(s) in North America.
- Implements agreed upon business strategy.
- Communicate to business and support groups where applicable.
- Develop and facilitate relationship with customers.
- Develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in & beyond the customer scope/respective portfolio.
- Apply the overall sales process, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Implement price increases to maintain profitability.
- Identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications, and interact with corresponding process and product developers of the potential customers, leading to profitable future business.
- Conduct customer-specific concepts and strategies and align them with marketing and management.
- Continuously increase market intelligence and update customer and competitor data.
- Identify customer requirements and offer solutions (service packages) accordingly.
- Negotiate and close deals or contracts with customers and provide operational guidance and support to the relevant functional departments to ensure implementation.
- Provide accurate sales forecast, supporting efficient planning of products and services.
- Define and implement account plan to achieve sales and profitability growth in line with BU strategies.
- Interfaces with Technical Account Managers and Application Specialists to address identified customer needs, technical problems in order to specify solutions and close sales opportunities.
BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or business (MBA a plus).
- Minimum of five (5) years in acceptable positions with experience in account management.
- Demonstrated Customer relationship skills.
- Self-motivator with a strong work ethic.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel between up to 40% of the time.
- Strong negotiating skills and business acumen.
