PPG will showcase its entire line of liquid, powder, electrocoat (e-coat) and pretreatment products, and three PPG experts will present technical papers or participate in panel discussions as part of the continuing education program, at FABTECH 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 16-18.
Among the products PPG will display are ENVIROCRON powder coatings; POWERCRON and POWERCRON ADVANTEDGE electrocoats; DURABULL, DRAGONHIDE and SPECTRACRON liquid coatings; and VERSABOND and Dragonhide ZRE pretreatment products. These products will include multiple formulations that have been introduced over the past year to help global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) use lighter-weight metals, accelerate or simplify production, and achieve environmental compliance without sacrificing corrosion resistance.
As part of the continuing education program, Gary Orosz, PPG application process manager, electrocoat, will present “The Basics of a Successful Coating Operation” on Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. Mountain Time. This session will cover the two types of electrocoating processes (anodic and cathodic) as well as epoxy- and acrylic-based paints and their uses.
The next day, Orosz will present with Jim Gezo, PPG product manager, electrocoat, and Nathan Silvernail, PPG technical manager, substrate protection, on “Advanced Electrocoating Concepts” at 8 a.m. MT. They will discuss the latest trends in electrocoat innovation for anti-corrosion performance and light-weighting, as well as ways to improve processing for coating line operators and designers. Both technical papers are being presented in conjunction with the Electrocoat Association.
Hugo Cambron, PPG technical service representative, industrial coatings, will participate in a panel discussion, “Presentación en Español: Powder Coating Automation, Efficiency, and Process Control – Ideas for Your Company (En Polvo Automatización, Effencia y Control de Procesos – Ideas para Su Campañía),” on Nov. 18 at 8 a.m. MT.
Mark William Price, PPG director of sales, industrial coatings, said visitors to the PPG booth will learn more about PPG’s continuing emphasis on customer-driven innovation. “Whether our customers are asking for coatings that are more durable, sustainable or easy to apply over complex substrates, we’re developing solutions to meet their needs,” he said. “FABTECH offers a great opportunity to hear about the challenges they’re facing and to tell them about products and technologies we’re developing to help them move beyond those challenges.”
PPG offers a comprehensive array of liquid, powder, e-coat and pretreatment products for metal finishing to manufacturers in numerous industries. In addition to providing a broad range of industrial coatings and a full spectrum of color choices, PPG backs its products with industry-leading technical expertise delivered through an international customer support network.
FABTECH is North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event. The 2016 show is expected to attract 40,000 attendees and 1,500 exhibiting companies.
