International Paint introduces Interthane 990 UHS

International Paint LLC, an Akzo Nobel company, and one of the world’s leading providers of high-performance protective coatings and fire-protection products has introduced Interthane 990 UHS, a new low VOC polyurethane technology that contains additives to help prevent the growth of mildew on the surface of exposed coated steelwork.

The high-performance, two-component white acrylic polyurethane was specially designed as a solution for the booming petrochemical ethanol market to address ongoing issues with mildew build-up on exterior steel tanks due to splashes, spills, fumes and overfill of the slow evaporating chemical.

Interthane 990 UHS is formulated for both new construction and maintenance applications and offers superior durability with excellent gloss and color retention. The finish coat can be sprayed, rolled or brush-applied, and is ideal for use on correctly prepared and primed steel surfaces in a wide range of aggressive environments including chemical and petrochemical plants, offshore structures, bridges, pulp and paper mills, power plants and refineries.

Liquiguard PC is a water-based, non-hazardous, non-toxic pre-treatment developed as a replacement for the more commonly used phosphate and chromate pre-treatments.
Liquiguard Technologies launches new formulations

Liquiguard Technologies has launched two new formulas:  Liquiguard PC Plus and Liquiguard PC Concentrate.

Liquiguard PC is a new alternative for the powder coating process. It is a water-based, non-hazardous, non-toxic pre-treatment developed as a replacement for the more commonly used phosphate and chromate pre-treatments. Liquiguard PC has excellent anti-rust and strong adhesion properties, which provide a mechanical bond over the metal profiles. Liquiguard PC will also isolate and inhibit rusting.

With the newest release of Liquiguard Plus and Liquiguard Concentrate, Liquiguard Technologies brings a new dimension of versatility to its family of products. Designed for the volume users, the new formulations serve several purposes. Primarily they help reduce freight charges and storage space. Additionally the powder coating facilities can dilute these formulations to different levels based on the nature of the substrate and application procedures. While Liquiguard PC Plus can be diluted up to three times its original volume Liquiguard PC Concentrate can be diluted to eight times its original volume.
