SEPR, a manufacturer of ceramic beads and powders, has introduced a high-density ceramic grinding bead produced from yttria-stabilized zirconia powder. Zirmil ceramic beads offer increased productivity and longer media life for microgrinding paint, printing inks, pigments, dyes, minerals and cosmetics. Zirmil is well suited for use in horizontal mills and particularly in high-energy mills, according to the company.
Zirmil beads are 55% denser than typical ceramic beads and are produced by the sintering of fine, uniform particle size mineral oxides into a homogeneous and highly cohesive bead structure. The crystallographic structure and chemical composition contribute to its outstanding wear resistance, according to the compa
