The Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) is a technical and professional organization that provides information and training on industrial finishing technologies. Founded in 1972, the association currently has more than 550 individual members, 50 Corporate Members and nearly 30 Custom Coater members located across the globe. The CCAI National Office is located in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with two satellite offices in Kentucky and North Carolina.
CCAI’s foundation is its series of active local chapters across the U.S. that conduct technical meetings, plant tours, seminars and networking events that cover all aspects of industrial finishing. “Chapters serve as an excellent forum to discuss regional concerns while offering outstanding social opportunities for finishers and suppliers,” said Anne Goyer, CCAI executive director. “CCAI works to raise the standards of finishing operations through educational meetings and seminars, training manuals, certification programs, and outreach programs and scholarships with colleges and universities.”

“What makes CCAI unique and special is the closeness of our members,” said Goyer. “They know they can depend on each other to help solve finishing-related problems, find products and services to improve operations, and continuously work together to raise the standards of finishing. We are very fortunate to have such a great network in our industry.”
One upcoming event is CCAI’s Introduction to Powder Coating and Curing Processes Seminar, which will be held October 9 at Georgia Power’s Customer Resource Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
“The daylong seminar will begin with a thorough introduction to the powder coating process, including cleaning & pretreatment, materials, application equipment and booths, curing options, part movement and running an efficient system,” explained Goyer. “The afternoon schedule will take attendees into the lab at the CRC to experience live demonstrations and opportunities for hands-on training. This interactive format allows attendees to get applied knowledge of the technologies they are learning in the classroom.”
Another upcoming event is FABTECH 2014, which will be held November 11-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
“CCAI’s FINISHING Pavilion at FABTECH is the finishing industry’s largest trade show and conference dedicated to all finishing technologies,” said Goyer. “As a partner in North American’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, CCAI is proud to be a part of bringing all manufacturing technologies together at FABTECH each November. It is now the destination show and conference for all those involved in the FINISHING industry. There are more exhibitors at FABTECH showcasing more products and technologies than anywhere else!”
