BASF recently presented The United Way of the Coastal Empire with a $20,000 donation to help fund disaster relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
“BASF is acutely aware of the damage sustained here in Savannah and surrounding areas from Hurricane Matthew,” said Dusty Allen, Site Manager for BASF’s site in Savannah. “It is our hope that this contribution will help improve the situation for many families and communities in need during this difficult time.”
United Way’s signature United Way 2-1-1 program is providing financial support to address infrastructure and supply challenges to help bring services back to the community. To date, United Way and its partner agencies have provided direct assistance through food and transportation vouchers to more than 800 families across Chatham, Bryan, Effingham and Liberty Counties.
“Through its continued involvement with the United Way of the Coastal Empire, BASF has proven to be a great community partner,” said Gregg Schroeder, President and CEO of United Way of the Coastal Empire. “We are extremely thankful for BASF’s generosity and assistance as our community continues to rebuild from this disaster.”
